How personal data of visitors to our website and people who contact us is processed under the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698.

In short

On this website we only process the information you choose to send us through the contact form, email, phone or WhatsApp, and the technical records needed for the website to run securely. We use this information to respond to your request and, where applicable, to provide legal services. We do not use it for advertising or marketing, and we do not sell or share it. This Privacy Notice is an English version of our KVKK Aydınlatma Metni, prepared under the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK). In case of any inconsistency, the Turkish version prevails.

Under Article 36 of the Turkish Attorneys Act No. 1136, lawyers must keep confidential the information they learn in the course of their professional work. The information you send us is protected by this duty of professional secrecy in addition to the KVKK.

This website does not use analytics or advertising cookies to recognise or track visitors; see our Cookie Policy. We recommend that you do not include special categories of personal data, such as health information or criminal records, in your first message. If you choose to include such information, it is processed only to assess your request, on the basis of your optional explicit consent (see below) or another legal ground under Article 6 of the KVKK.

Your personal data is not used for advertising, marketing, profiling or automated decision-making.

Transfers of personal data

  • Hosting and email service provider: the provider of the servers on which the website and the firm's email account run may access data, under a service agreement, to deliver and store form messages and keep server logs.
  • Competent public authorities: courts, prosecutors and other authorities, where legally required.
  • In the course of legal services: if you engage the firm, to courts, enforcement offices, mediation offices, notaries and sworn translators as your matter requires, with separate information provided to you.

The servers hosting the website and the firm's email account are located in Türkiye. The firm does not transfer personal data collected through the website abroad. However, if you choose to contact us via WhatsApp or Instagram, or to load the Google Maps content on the website, these services are provided by companies established abroad and their own privacy policies apply.

Retention

Personal data is kept for as long as the purpose of processing requires and for the retention and limitation periods set by law, after which it is deleted, destroyed or anonymised. Information and appointment requests that do not result in an engagement are deleted within a reasonable period after the request has been answered. To prevent misuse of the form, your IP address is kept briefly in an irreversibly hashed form. Server logs are kept for the period required by the hosting provider's legal obligations.

The contact form contains an optional checkbox by which you can give explicit consent to the processing of any special categories of personal data you choose to include in your message, solely to assess and respond to your request. You do not need to give this consent to send the form or to receive a reply. You can withdraw your consent at any time by writing to info@bilgihukukburosu.com; withdrawal takes effect for the future. Your rights

Under Article 11 of the KVKK, you have the right to:

  • Learn whether your personal data is processed, and request information if it is
  • Learn the purpose of processing and whether it is used in line with that purpose
  • Know the third parties in Turkey or abroad to whom it is transferred
  • Request correction if it is incomplete or inaccurate
  • Request deletion or destruction under the conditions of Article 7 of the KVKK
  • Request that correction, deletion or destruction be notified to third parties to whom the data was transferred
  • Object to a result against you arising exclusively from automated analysis
  • Claim compensation for damage caused by unlawful processing

How to exercise your rights

You can send your request, with information identifying you, in writing to the address above, by registered electronic mail (KEP), secure electronic or mobile signature, or from an email address previously notified to us and registered in our system to info@bilgihukukburosu.com. Requests are answered free of charge as soon as possible and within 30 days at the latest; if the request involves an additional cost, a fee under the tariff of the Personal Data Protection Board may be charged. If your request is rejected, the answer is insufficient or no answer is given in time, you may complain to the Personal Data Protection Board within 30 days of learning of the answer and in any case within 60 days of your request (KVKK Art. 14).
