Real Estate Law

Real estate law is the branch of law that deals with land ownership, financing and development. As such, it overlaps with the areas of private and public law, including corporate and civil law. Real estate law is generally divided into two main subcategories: residential property transactions and commercial property transactions. Residential property transactions include real estate, easements, mortgages, and evictions. Commercial property transactions include lease agreements, leased properties, sales agreements and trade finance. As a legal term often used interchangeably with "real estate," "property law" generally refers to public law. Property law applies to all kinds of tangible property and intangible rights.
